It Begins.

I spent the majority of my weekend assembling various baby related items. By the end of the day on Sunday, my brain was pretty spent from reading poorly written instructions and trying to figure out the secret to the byzantine nature of children’s products.

The Jumperoo was far and away the most difficult item to assemble, followed closely by the pack and play. I think it was mostly because the Jumperoo has about eight million parts and the cute kid and bright colors on the packaging belies the malevolent nature of the assembling process.

But it sure is cute, isn’t it? I sort of wish I could get in there and jump around.

We also finally got our mattress in, which means we are really ready to have this baby!

Before he sleeps in the crib, though, he will be hanging out in our bedroom, in his pack and play. This thing is actually pretty awesome: It vibrates, has a night light, plays soothing nature sounds and music, and is low enough to the ground and has a net so the dogs can look at him like he’s in a zoo.

The theme here seems to be that babies get some of the coolest gear.

My final task for the weekend was to unbox and de-tag all of the toys we have for Baby G. The only problem with the baby toys we have, is that I noticed they all look almost exactly like the toys we buy our dogs at Target.

Hannah has apparently noticed the similarities as well, and as you can see, is pretty eager to test the toys before the boy arrives. The toy bucket is from PB Kids and is a great size for all of Baby G’s toys. As long as you keep curious dogs away from the goodies inside, you’ll be good to go.
